Hinged shower doors that swing inwards only are not permitted by code. They should open outwards. There is a safety issue where previously people have been stuck in their shower screen therefore they should always open outward. It is a minimum BCA requirement for the door to open outward.
Some designs like frameless glass have 180 degree hinges, allowing both outward and inward door designs.
Certified glass is supplied by Pipers International compliant with the Australian Safety Standard AS/NZS 2208:1996 requirement at the time of manufacture. The standard applies to all safety glazing materials as required by AS 1288:2006. A certificate of compliance is available with every order.
